Venus is the Goddess of Love, ruler of Taurus and Libra, she is associated with aesthetics, beauty, and romance. Venus in our natal chart helps us understand how we receive love and express our affection. A feminine energy, Venus is more in tune with receiving abundance and blessings than she is about taking charge and working hard. That’s more so masculine Mars energy.

Venus in Mars-ruled Aries is in detriment, meaning she doesn’t feel at home. Her ability to express herself or flirt can be aggressive. We may confuse quarrels as flirtatious exchanges. We may dress more aggressive and become more combative when it comes to our relationships and creativity.
Venus is exalted in Pisces and will feel much more at home when she retrogrades back into the watery feminine sign on March 27. Although Pisces is homey to Venus, she can overvalue toxic relationships here thanks to a boundary-less world of fantasy and romance that leaves her wearing rose-colored glasses. Having some discernment is key.
And this is why Venus does station retrograde every 18 months or so. It’s an opportunity for us to review, rethink, redo, rearrange our thoughts, beliefs, understandings of relationships, creative projects, our fashion, how we decorate our homes, how we care for our self.
A Venus retrograde is NOT the time for dramatic changes to relationships or your physical appearance. Avoid breakups, dramatic hair cuts, hair color changes, dramatic changes to your wardrobe, plastic surgery, avoid remodeling, home renovation projects, and anything to do with your style or appearance.
