On March 13, 2025, we have a Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Virgo.

A Full Moon typically represents a culmination, a completion, an ending. And this particular Full Moon looks like it is especially powerful for endings as this Full Moon is conjunct the South Node. 

In astrology, we have a personal nodal axis, and as a society, we have a collective communal nodal axis. Our North Node guides us in the direction we are being asked to move into. It’s an energy we are being asked to do more of, act like, think like, and the South Node is the 180 degree opposite point on the zodiac wheel. It represents what we are being asked to let go of or release.

In September 2024, we had our first eclipse on the Pisces-Virgo axis. The North Node is currently in Pisces and the South Node is in Virgo. With a Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in the South Node of Virgo, we are likely going to experience big endings and closures.

Virgo is the Purist of the Zodiac.

The symbol for Virgo is that of a virgin because the energy of Virgo is clean, it’s devotional, it’s self love, it’s spirituality; it’s the high priestess in human form, making the body the temple.

Ruled by Mercury, Virgo is the natural ruler of the sixth house and the sixth house is all about the body, our service to the world, our day job, physical health, physical wellness, smaller animals like cats and dogs, plants, and also enemies.

Virgo is an Earth sign, meaning it’s slow, sensual, grounding, feminine energy. It’s an energy that is all about balance, fairness, loving people and building solid relationships. Lunar Eclipses of Saros 123

This Full Moon is not a regular Full Moon, it’s a Total Lunar Eclipse. Every Lunar Eclipse is a part of a particular Saros series and that Saros series or similar eclipse energy repeats itself approximately every 6,585.3 days (18 years 11 days 8 hours). 

The first eclipse on this particular Saros series occurred on May 2, 1502. And this series of Lunar Eclipse will complete on October 8, 2367.

The last time we had a Lunar Eclipse on this axis was March 3, 2007, we had a Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo. We had a Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo in February 1989 too in this same Saros series.

Astrology is largely based on history and symbolism so I wanted to see what was happening around 1502 when this eclipse energy was first experienced on Earth because that could give us a hint to what we may experience in 2025. 

In May 1502, Christopher Columbus set sail on his fourth and final voyage to the New World. So there were a lot of ocean-voyages that led to the discovery of something new. A few countries were “discovered” in 1502 by the Spanish. Also in 1502, Muslims in Granada were forced to convert to Catholicism. Pisces is all about spirituality and religion.

In 1917 this Saros series energy was present again when the world experienced events including: the Russian Revolution in which the Romanov monarchy was overthrown and the Bolsheviks socialist government was installed, the U.S. entered into World War I, and the Balfour Declaration was published. This was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour that supported the creation of a Jewish homeland in Palestine.

In 1935, the Social Security Act was signed into law. The Nazis passed the Nuremberg Laws which stripped Jews of their citizenships and restricted their rights. Persia became Iran. Amelia Earhart successfully flies solo from Hawaii to California. U.S. passes the National Labor Relations Act or Wagner Act, which  guarantees private sector employees the right to organize into unions, engage in collective bargaining, and take collective action like strikes, essentially protecting workers’ freedom to associate and negotiate with their employers regarding working conditions. Alcoholics Anonymous was founded in Akron, Ohio, the Hoover Dam opened, a dam burst in Italy killing 250 people. 

In 1971, Bangladesh was formed. The U.S. began diplomatic relations with China, and the U.S. had two successful space missions Apollo 14 and Apollo 15. Cigarette advertising was banned on television and radio. Earthquakes, landslides, tornadoes, freak accidents at sports stadiums kill hundreds. Nuclear Weapons outlawed in the Seabed Treaty signed by the U.S., UK and Soviet Union. Charles Manson found guilty, Starbucks founded, Mount Etna erupts in Italy, War on Drugs declared by Richard Nixon, voting age lowered from 21 to 18, anti Vietnam war protests in Washington DC, March on DC, Pentagon Papers excerpts published in New York Times. 

In 1989, there was an Earthquake in San Francisco that killed 63 people and the Exxon Valdez oil spill in Alaska. Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web. Nintendo released the Game Boy handheld game console. The Canada–United States Free Trade Agreement came into effect. The Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania gained independence from the Soviet Union. 

The revolutions of 1989 were a key factor in the dissolution of the Soviet Union—one of the two global superpowers—and in the abandonment of communist regimes in many parts of the world, some of which were violently overthrown.

Also in 1989, the Berlin Wall Falls. The wall came down on November 9, 1989, allowing East Germans to travel freely to West Germany. And there was the Tiananmen Square massacre

The Chinese military killed many students demonstrating for democracy in Tiananmen Square. 

In 2007, the Virginia Tech massacre left 31 people dead, making it the deadliest shooting spree in US history. The Battle of Gaza takes place, leading to Hamas taking control of the Gaza Strip. As I shared previously, we are currently shifting the nodal axis from the Aries-Libra axis to the Pisces–Virgo axis.

This switch began in September 2024, Sept. 17, 2024, to be exact, we had a Partial Lunar Eclipse in Pisces, which was the first of the eclipse series on the Pisces/Virgo axis and we will continue to have eclipses activating this health axis until 2027.

Eclipse energy is tied to energy from the past, which is why these fated events can show up similarly in our lives and we can collectively experience events and weather phenomena similar to what was experienced in the past. 

The last time we experienced eclipses on the Pisces/Virgo axis was between March 2015 – February 2017. Think back to what was going on in your life because similar themes or events could occur now as well. 

Also think back to what was going on in your life between March 2006 – February 2008, we had eclipses on the Pisces/Virgo axis in this same Saros series. So again, think about what was going on in your life at that time, similar events are likely to occur around this time. And there’s a chance that it’s similar to what happened in that area of your life between 2015-2017 as well.
