Scorpio New Moon | November 2026

November 8, 2026 | 16°52’ Scorpio | 11:02 PM PT

The Scorpio New Moon on November 8, 2026, is a new beginning, but not just for our personal selves. This is a moment when we collectively may experience a grand transformation—a confirmation that the old way of doing, living, and thinking is gone. And in order to move forward, we have to continue walking through the fires of transformation.

This Scorpio New Moon is filled with an energy that is as much about endings as it is about a fresh start. But let’s not forget that in order to have a true new beginning, we first have to clean out the old. This is where I think this New Moon occurring in Scorpio is divine timing.

Scorpio is an energy ruled by both Mars and Pluto. One energy pierces and cuts deep, so deep that you are permanently changed, transformed. The other is associated with death and the underworld. Scorpio energy is not only associated with darker colors like black, but it’s also an energy of death, sometimes literal, sometimes metaphorical. But this is an energy that doesn’t just die. It’s reborn.

Scorpio is symbolized most notably by a scorpion, but also by a Phoenix, because Scorpio has this ancient, ancestral knowledge and a relationship with the spiritual world and the occult. It knows how to plummet the depths of the human experience and arrive in the underworld, where it can gather the truth, strip off its armor, and return in a transformed, elevated state.

A heavily misunderstood water sign, Scorpio’s energy is like a wild river. Frozen and stoic on the surface, but underneath are rapidly flowing currents.

Scorpio traditionally rules the eighth house and is therefore connected with energies like sex, death, rebirth, the occult, astrology, mysticism, psychological shadow work, major life changes, shared resources, other people’s money, and inherited patterns, both literal and energetic.

And because Scorpio is a fixed water sign, there’s a strong attachment to emotion and memory. Even when the inner world becomes heavy or stagnant, letting go of the familiar can feel threatening. Releasing what no longer serves us isn’t a neat spiritual concept—it’s a visceral, internal battle.

Scorpio sees straight through facades, and that X-ray vision can make it impossible to hide, especially from ourselves. Buried feelings, secrets, obsessions, or unspoken truths may rise to the surface. Some relationships or dynamics may shift as a result. This can be a time of crisis, catharsis, and purging, but also profound healing.

If emotions spike or tempers flare, breathe deeply and ride the waves rather than resist them. There is value in emotional intensity. It reminds us of our power, reveals what needs clearing, and opens space for new energy—energy aligned with our highest good, our transformation, and our destiny.

The Sabian Symbol: A Woman Fathering Her Own Child

This New Moon occurs at 16°52’ Scorpio, connecting it to the Sabian symbol for Scorpio 17°: A woman fathering her own child.

On one hand, this could represent conflict between what we want and desire for ourselves and what is best for those around us. There’s potential tension between the weight of our soul’s responsibilities, what our ethereal, energetic mind came here to experience and solve, and the very human nature that drives our consciousness and individuality.

In other words, there could be some conflict between what our heart says and what our brain says.

We may feel an urge to follow our heart. After all, the image of a woman fathering her own child speaks to the idea that we don’t need permission to create something, feel something, or do something.

But there’s another layer to this symbol. We live our lives through the lens of our own vision and dreams, and over time, those dreams become ideals in our minds. When those ideals are challenged, we can take it personally because it feels like criticism of who we are at our very core.

This Scorpio New Moon is asking us to listen to our heart, not just our brain.

The Sabian symbol also invites us to consider the heart as having its own intelligence and consciousness. There are spiritual teachings that describe the heart as the original center of creation, emphasizing that our capacity to create, connect, and experience life begins somewhere deeper than our rational minds can explain.

I think this is an interesting distinction for this New Moon. We can spend so much time trying to think our way through life, rationalize our decisions, and seek external validation that we forget to listen to the quieter knowing within ourselves.

Sometimes the answer isn’t another explanation. Sometimes it’s a feeling we already know to be true.

And perhaps that’s part of what this New Moon is asking of us: to trust our own inner knowing enough to create something that hasn’t existed before.

The Sabian symbol also carries a message of self-sufficiency. When the Sun moves through 16–17° Scorpio, you may find yourself digging around inside and discovering tools you didn’t know you had. Something breaks, slips, or demands your attention, and instead of panicking, there’s a quiet realization: Oh, right. I can do this.

You might fix a mess, hold a boundary, or simply stop waiting for permission. The surprise is how natural it feels. The resources you need may have been there all along, gathering dust until now.

This isn’t about heroics or proving yourself to anyone. It’s about recognizing your own capabilities and trusting yourself to use them.

The sky isn’t asking you to save the world. It’s asking you to trust your own hands.

The Scorpio New Moon: Mars, Pluto, and the Power of Transformation

To understand this New Moon more deeply, we need to look at Scorpio’s planetary rulers: Mars and Pluto.

Mars, the traditional ruler of Scorpio, is in Leo at the time of the Scorpio New Moon, while Pluto, Scorpio’s modern ruler, is in Aquarius. Both planets are under considerable pressure from the New Moon, with Mars and Pluto forming challenging squares to the Sun and Moon.

This creates a powerful tension between who we are, what we want, and what we may need to change in order to move forward.

Mars is also conjunct Jupiter and the South Node in Leo, and opposite the North Node. There’s a strong emphasis on personal will, courage, confidence, and the desire to take action. But there’s a difference between acting from a place of genuine inner knowing and acting from ego, pride, or the need to prove something.

Jupiter tends to amplify whatever it touches. Combined with Mars, this can make us feel particularly passionate, generous, courageous, and ready to take risks. But it can also amplify impatience, overconfidence, aggression, and a tendency to overdo or overindulge in things.

The South Node connection adds another layer. We may be drawing on familiar ways of asserting ourselves, seeking recognition, or relying on our own strength. But are those patterns actually helping us move forward?

The North Node in Aquarius points toward a different expression of power—one that considers the collective, embraces collaboration, and recognizes that we don’t have to do everything alone.

This is an important distinction: true power doesn’t require egoic strength or muscling your way ahead. Sometimes it comes from an inner knowing that takes the needs of others into account alongside our own.

Meanwhile, Pluto in Aquarius is challenging the Sun and Moon, adding pressure to examine the deeper structures, beliefs, and power dynamics that shape our lives. Pluto doesn’t tend to leave things untouched. It exposes what has been operating beneath the surface, sometimes revealing that what we thought was stable or permanent is ready for transformation.

Chiron, the wounded healer, is also opposite the Sun and Moon, bringing themes around vulnerability, old wounds, and the places where we may still be seeking validation or protection. This can be an opportunity to recognize where our past experiences are influencing how we respond to the present.

And with Mercury in Scorpio squaring Pluto, our minds are especially interested in getting to the bottom of things. We’re combing through the details, questioning what we’ve been told, and searching for the truth behind the surface. Conversations can become intense, and information that was previously hidden may come to light.

The important thing is to recognize that uncovering the truth doesn’t mean we need to react immediately. We can allow ourselves to see something clearly before deciding what to do with that information.

Venus, meanwhile, is forming supportive connections with Mars and Jupiter. This brings a softer, more relational dimension to an otherwise intense configuration. There is an opportunity to approach our relationships, desires, creativity, and personal values with greater warmth and generosity.

But even here, discernment matters. Being generous doesn’t mean overextending ourselves, and loving someone doesn’t mean abandoning our own needs.

Ceres: The Nourishment We Need to Grow

Another interesting piece of this New Moon is Ceres, the goddess asteroid.

Discovered in 1801, Ceres was the first asteroid discovered and is also the largest object in the asteroid belt. It was named after the Roman goddess of agriculture and grain, corresponding to the Greek goddess Demeter.

Ceres is associated with food, nourishment, fertility, harvest, renewal, caregiving, and the relationship between parents and children. It can also speak to themes of parental rejection, responsibility, and the ways we experience giving and receiving care.

With Ceres emphasized in the larger planetary configuration, I think there’s an important question here: What are we actually nourishing in our lives?

Are we feeding the habits, relationships, and patterns that help us grow? Or are we continuing to give our energy to things that leave us depleted?

Transformation isn’t only about what we release. It’s also about what we choose to nurture in its place.

We cannot expect to grow into something new if we’re still feeding the same old patterns.

The Emotional Energy of the Scorpio New Moon

With the Sun and Moon together in Scorpio, our emotional world may feel particularly intense. Scorpio doesn’t skim the surface. Feelings run deep, attachments can become stronger, and our desire to understand what’s really happening beneath the surface may become almost consuming.

The challenging Mars and Jupiter connections can amplify emotional reactions, impatience, and the tendency to overdo things. We may feel strongly about our opinions or become frustrated when others don’t see things the way we do.

There can also be a temptation to spend, indulge, or seek immediate gratification as a way of managing uncomfortable emotions.

This is where self-awareness becomes especially important.

The combination of Mars, Jupiter, and the South Node can make it tempting to rely on familiar reactions: pushing harder, getting louder, proving a point, or trying to control an outcome. But this New Moon is inviting us to examine whether those responses are actually serving us.

Not every feeling requires an immediate reaction. Not every disagreement needs to become a battle. And not every truth needs to be delivered with a sharp edge.

The invitation is to recognize our emotional intensity without allowing it to make our decisions for us.

There is a difference between being empowered and being reactive. There is a difference between standing in your truth and needing everyone else to agree with you.

This is a New Moon that asks us to become more conscious of where our power comes from—and what we are choosing to do with it.

Libra Rising

This Scorpio New Moon activates your 2nd house of finances and self-worth. You may be reassessing what you value, both materially and internally. If you have natal planet placements or important astrological points between 12–22° Libra, this may feel more like a gentle awareness than a major shift, as your natal planets aren’t necessarily activated by this New Moon. This is a moment to notice where your energy and resources are being invested and whether those investments truly reflect your self-worth. AKA are you getting the energy you pour into relationships returned back to you equally?

Scorpio Rising

This Scorpio New Moon occurs in your 1st house of self and identity, marking a personal turning point. You may feel more aware of how you show up in the world and ready to shift something about your approach, appearance, or direction. This may feel like a particularly significant shift, but remember Scorpio, you are allowed to evolve—and to be seen in a new way. You are the sign of transformation after all. This can feel potent or consuming, but it also marks the beginning of a new personal cycle. What parts of yourself are you ready to reclaim, redefine, or leave behind?

Sagittarius Rising

This Scorpio New Moon activates your 12th house of rest, healing, and karmic release. You may feel more inward or reflective, processing something beneath the surface. This can be a powerful time for emotional clearing and quiet closure. If you have natal planet placements or important astrological points between 12–22° Sagittarius, this may feel more like a gentle awareness than a major shift, as your natal planets aren’t necessarily activated by this New Moon. Not everything needs to be shared to be transformed. Give yourself permission to rest, reflect, and allow things to unfold internally.

This Scorpio New Moon highlights your 11th house of friendships, community, and future vision. You may gain clarity around your social circles or the long-term goals that feel most supportive or meaningful. If you have natal planet placements or important astrological points between 12–22° Capricorn, the New Moon is forming a harmonious sextile with your natal planets. This is an energy that opens doors, but it requires your participation. There are potential growth opportunities, but you have to be willing to engage and be proactive. Some connections may shift as you realign with your path. Notice what—and who—feels aligned with your future.

Aquarius Rising

This Scorpio New Moon activates your 10th house of career, public reputation, and our parental axis, particularly our relationship with our father. You may be reaching a moment of visibility or reflection around your direction and responsibilities that could feel uncomfortable. You may feel pressure in your life that can’t be ignored. This energy wants you to take action, make a decision, or shift direction. Is this uncomfortable? Yes. But it can also be a catalyst for change. Stay focused on what feels meaningful long-term.

Pisces Rising

This Scorpio New Moon lights up your 9th house of higher learning, foreign travel, foreign relations, spirituality, and philosophy. The New Moon is forming a harmonious trine with your natal planets, creating energy that feels supportive and natural. You may feel called to step outside your comfort zone—whether through travel, learning, or shifting your beliefs. There’s an openness here that allows you to see things from a new vantage point.
