Total Lunar Eclipse Taurus 2022

Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus, happening on Nov. 7-8, 2022, depending on where you are in the world. That Total Lunar Eclipse is happening at 16 degrees exactly, no minutes. Starting at 3:01 AM Pacific Time. 

Eclipse Season

Like I mentioned a few weeks ago when we had the Solar Eclipse in Scorpio, we are in eclipse season right now. It’s about a 35-day period of time when we experience at least two eclipses, sometimes three. 

On Nov. 8, this Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus is once again triggering the Scorpio-Taurus eclipse axis, which is all about money, values, desires, what is important to you, desire for food, desire for sex, desire for sensuality.

Remember Scorpio eclipse energy is more about spiritual energies, the unseen, invisible patterns, whereas Taurus eclipse energy is what we feel in a PHYSICAL sense, it’s material energies like money, our body, material possessions. 

Eclipse energy is that game-changer energy where memorable moments in life are made.

It’s intense, yes, so we can get antsy during this time but truthfully there’s not much you can do to stop whatever the eclipse brings with it so this is a time to surrender.

This is the time to find the silver lining that thing to be grateful for and to trust that if something is coming to an end, if we find we are suddenly having to move homes, change jobs, losing relationships with loved ones, that the darkness we’re experiencing is not an end, rather we are being planted for something even greater. Something we may not be able to comprehend yet.

And I’m saying this to you as much as I’m saying this to myself – this is a period where it’s important to keep the faith. To find a sense of safety and center in ourselves absent any material items. To allow ourselves to explore new ways of thinking, being, creating, showing up for ourselves and others because we may find that what used to work for us or what used to be available for us is no longer. 

Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon

So with that being said, let’s get into the update for this powerful Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Taurus, happening on November 8, 2022. So because this is a total lunar eclipse, the timing of this moon is a little different than a traditional full moon and that’s because there are phases with an eclipse. 

So we’ll start to see the first glimpses of the lunar eclipse forming around 1:09 AM Pacific and at this time the moon will appear to be a partial eclipse. At 1:15 AM Pacific the Full Moon will enter the Total Eclipse period, lasting for about an hour later with the peak eclipse around 2:59 AM Pacific. The partial eclipse will end around 4:49 AM Pacific time. So it’s a pretty large window of time to see this full moon and that’s because it’s a massive full moon, eclipsing a large portion of the Earth.

You’ve heard me mention the word Total Lunar Eclipse instead of partial eclipse and that’s because normally during an eclipse, the sun, the earth and the moon must be roughly aligned so that the Earth can cast a shadow on the moon’s surface. So a total lunar eclipse can only occur during a full moon, but not every full moon will be an eclipse or a total eclipse.

When a total lunar eclipse takes place, the three planetary bodies are aligned in a straight line allowing the entirety of the Moon to be covered by the Earth’s surface, making the moon appear to be red, orange, or brown in color. This Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus in November 2022 is expected to turn the moon red.

And the total lunar eclipse will be visible in North East Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, much of South America, the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, the Arctic, and Antarctica. 

So if you live in one of these geographical regions or if you are visiting one of these regions, you are likely to feel the effects of this Total Lunar Eclipse the most. And these geographies are likely to appear in the news. As that’s usually what happens when the moon shines a light on you.

And for those of you who are wondering about US elections given the date and timing of this Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon, this is the first time in US history that there’s an Election Day happening on the same day as a Total Lunar Eclipse. It’s never happened before and it won’t happen again until 2394.

Because we’re already talking about the US election, let me flag some other things for you happening during this Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in Taurus because I think there’s a theme here that may possibly affect or explain election results.

Beaver Moon

So Nov. 8 we have the Full Beaver Moon in Taurus. It’s called the Beaver Moon, the November Full Moon, because it’s around this time that animals like the Beaver are making their final arrangements before winter arrives. And energetically speaking, we as humans are going through our own kind of transformation at this time, preparing for a death and birth transformation, which is what Scorpio season is all about.

Energetically if we follow nature, we’re coming up to the transition from fall to winter. It’s a time of transformation like Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio symbolizes. Death and rebirth.

Adding to the mix, we have trickster Uranus in Taurus, who is progressive, takes Quantum Leaps forward, and wants to rile and shake up the way Saturn has been running things. And on this total lunar eclipse we have a square once again between Saturn in Aquarius and Uranus in Taurus. It’s a battle of old and new, conservative vs progressive, top-down control vs grassroots movements.

We may find ourselves digging deep into our soul to figure out which path is most consistent with our heart, our morals, our principles. Uranus will be encouraging us to move forward at light speed, to expect the unexpected and to trust in the power of our transformation. But Saturn wants to restrain us from uncertain growth and will be shouting “wait a minute, not so fast, slow down, be careful,” every chance it can.

Mercury was in Libra at the time of the Solar Eclipse New Moon in Scorpio, closely opposed to Eris, the feminine warrior energy. Remember Eris is not a warrior just for the sake of fighting. She is fueled by this desire to never let anyone feel left out or unwanted. Eris is that energy of taking your battle, your fight to the streets and standing up for the quietest, the smallest, the poorest among us. And now Mercury has moved into Scorpio.

The Moon will be in Taurus, which is where the North Node, our collective destiny, the path we need to take to move forward. And so this may indicate that the answers we seek are not in our external world, like the sun, rather it’s deep within. Remember our moon represents our internal world, our emotions, our feelings. So it’s quite possible that we could experience events that logically should make us feel one way, but emotionally we may feel differently and decide that based on our emotions, our heart, this other path is the best way forward. In other words, logic may not play much of a role during this Total Lunar Eclipse. Rather Love may be key to finding the answers.

In some ways that seems fitting that LOVE would play such a major role during this Full Moon because Venus is the ruler of Taurus. And of the zodiac signs, Taurus is one of the nurturing, sweet, beautiful, loving signs. 

In fact the nickname of Taurus in the Zodiac is the lover. Taurus is a fixed earth sign, so it’s steady, it’s determined, but it doesn’t necessarily like change or to initiate new things. Taurus is a feminine energy and Taurus is the natural ruler of the second house – the second house is all about money, work, income, daily routine, values, material possessions, priorities, habits, your job and work ethic. And the shadow side of Taurean energy is Scorpio. 

Taurus rules the throat and one big theme occuring during this Total Lunar Eclipse: Speaking the truth. 

The energy of this Total Lunar Eclipse is eerily similar to what it looked like when fascism was on the rise in Nazi Germany, which led to WWII, and the economic crisis that followed. So I’m flagging this for you because we have a chance to contain this energy and to stop the lies from spreading. 

Pluto is in a T-Square to Eris along with Haumea, the dwarf planet named after the Hawaiian Goddess of fertility and nature. So our relationship with nature, natural law, doing the right thing, is going to be really important these next few months and into 2023.

Because remember now that we are in November we are officially in the energy of 2023 because energy works in threes. So November, December, January is our current cadence, and that means we’re already swimming in the energy of January 2023. 

This is a good thing because we’re going to start off 2023 like we started off 2022 – with a Mercury Retrograde. And we’re in the middle of our Mars retrograde right now and that is going to last through January 12, 2023, so you can see the decisions we make now, the habits we implement now, are already affecting and shaping our next year.

So this is not a time for white lies. This is a time for uncomfortable truths. For recognizing that we are the Earth and the Earth is us. Earth is my body, water is my blood, air is my breath, and fire is my spirit. 

This is not likely to be an easy time for most people. Remember eclipse energy is most potent the week before, during and after, but the energy lasts for six months after the eclipse. 

So we can already see small glimpses of what challenges could happen with this Total Lunar Eclipse on Nov. 8 and if we look at what Taurus rules it’s not surprising – 

Energy is affected, especially in Europe, and winter has not technically begun and we are hearing stories about people freezing, not being able to afford heat and electricity. Food supplies are affected, you’re seeing food costs skyrocket while grocers are posting record profits. Uncomfortable truths right. Money is changing, the cost of basic needs are all exploding. 

What we spend money on, how we spend money, where we spend money, it’s all shifting, changing, or needs to be considered. 

I’m not sharing this with you to scare you, rather I want you to be prepared. Now would be a good time to set aside extra money in your emergency fund, stock up on some soup or food items that you can eat anytime. Also start working on your mindset. Get to a place of peace and love. It’s not a bad idea to put sticky notes or posters everywhere to remind yourself that there is always something to be grateful for. That you are safe. You are loved. 

This feels like we’re entering a period of time where we will either succumb to darkness or we will be squeezed so tightly that creativity will flow, hope will be restored, new ways of being, doing, creating, and relating will be birthed, and we will taste the sweet fruits of New Earth.

I think the truth aspect and Uranus will play a large role in all of this. Those of us who are ready for a world where we love and respect one another, the animals, the plants, the flowers and trees, we will likely be speaking truths that trigger those around us. We could experience loss in the forms of relationships, jobs, moving out of communities and comfort zones we once knew, and also saying goodbye to the person we used to be.

But there will still be a world remaining for those who are not ready to face yet another dark night of the soul. There are those whose job this lifetime is to just be and that’s fine too. We are grateful for them, for the stability and love they have brought to this planet.

There is no wrong answer when it comes to energy. You are here doing exactly what you need to be doing. You are not lost. You are not late. You are right on time.

Saros 136

This Total Lunar Eclipse is part of the Saros 136 eclipse series. This is an energy that first came to earth on April 13, 1680 and is expected to complete on June 1, 2960. Holy shit. So this is the 20th experience of this eclipse energy out of 72 eclipses. 

The last time we experienced this particular eclipse energy was October 28, 2004. So think back what was happening in your life around the Fall 2004 into winter/Spring 2005? Similar themes are likely to emerge.

And because I flagged WWII for you before, let’s go back a little further with this eclipse energy. So prior to October 2004, we experienced this eclipse energy in:

• Oct. 17, 1986
• Oct. 6, 1968
• September 26, 1950
• Sept. 14, 1932
• Sept. 4, 1914

I’ll let you do your own research from here on those dates. 

At the time of the Nov. 8 Total Lunar Eclipse, The Sun will be in Scorpio, the Moon will be in Taurus, and I think the sun in Scorpio conjunct the South Node is highlighting secrets, dark secrets need to be revealed so that we collectively can move forward. Like a kitchen renovation, we have to take everything out before the new things can go in. And it feels like there are BIG secrets that need to be shared so that healing can occur before we can move on.

I’m not sure how easy this change and healing will feel though because there are a lot of planets in fixed signs and remember fixed signs do not like change.

We have 6 planets in fixed signs: 

• Moon, North Node and Uranus in Taurus
• Sun, Mercury, Venus in Scorpio
• Saturn in Aquarius

In fixed signs, the energy wants to be held tight, it doesn’t want to change or move. But that means there is nowhere for the energy to go. 

When there is a square between saturn and uranus in fixed signs, especially when Uranus is in Taurus, we see a lot of seismic activity, earthquakes, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions because the energy surges – it doesn’t know where to go because it’s being held so tight that something breaks. And eclipses are also a classic signature of earthquakes. But it could be a non-nature earthquake. It could be financial earthquakes, political earthquakes, behavioral earthquakes due to frustration.

Although this is likely to be a turbulent time, we’re experiencing these breakdowns so we can have breakthroughs if we allow it. Uranus ultimately will win against Saturn, so the old will not outlast the new. 

So that’s the update that I have for the collective generally speaking. 

What to expect on an individual basis? 

The Total Lunar Eclipse is happening at 16 degrees of Taurus. 

If you are a sun or rising Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius, and Leo, you are most likely to be impacted or feel this eclipse’s energy, especially if you have planets in fixed signs – Taurus, Scorpio, Leo, Aquarius, around 16-19 degrees.

You’ll also want to find which house Taurus rules for you. That’s going to give you the best indication for which area of your life will be most affected by this Total Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. 

Also keep in mind that Taurus is the ruler of the second house of income and values, so look at what zodiac rules your second house as well, because that house may be affected by this eclipse as well, and whatever zodiac rules your second house may give you additional insight as to how the energy may affect you economically.

If you do see anything collapse – particularly financial because that’s on this axis – know and trust that there are really kindhearted, intelligent people working right now on new forms of monetary systems, governments, food supplies, and so as we see the end, it’s making way for our new beginning, New Earth.

Look back at what was happening in your life the week before, during and after April 30, 2022?

That is when we had the Solar Eclipse New Moon in Taurus. Remember though, eclipse energy can be felt up to six months afterward, so similar themes may not have emerged yet but they could around this time.

Also look back at what was going on in your life in 2004/ early 2005  when we last experienced this particular eclipse energy as similar themes are likely to emerge. 

I have a feeling we are about to enter a period of time in which our mindset, our ability to love, find things to be grateful for, and feel safe will be challenged. I would be lying to you if I didn’t say I wasn’t nervous – especially given how my chart is lighting up with this Total Lunar Eclipse. 

But I can’t stop the inevitable. I can’t control the world. I can only control my reaction. And that’s my goal for the rest of the year. Is to stay on a perch where I feel love, gratitude, peace, and joy everyday and know and trust that everything is working out in the best case scenario.
