That Solar Eclipse New Moon is happening at 3:48 AM Pacific on Oct. 25, at 1 degree, 59 minutes of Scorpio. Last time we experienced this particular eclipse energy was Oct. 14, 2004. This eclipse is part of the saros 124 series.
Eclipse energy is like a spiral, it repeats itself every 18.5 years or so, which means the last time we experienced this particular eclipse energy was Oct. 2004. So what was going on in your life? Similar themes are likely to emerge.
Like a New Moon, a solar eclipse is more associated with new beginnings than it is endings. But that’s not to say that endings don’t happen during this time – in order for new things to flow into our life, sometimes that means we have to let go, we have to make room for the new by clearing out the old. In some sense you could call that a transformation and of the zodiac there is no one who knows how to transform like a Scorpio.
Scorpio is the most intense sign of the Zodiac, and is associated with sexual activity and with the symbolism of death and rebirth. Scorpio is a fixed water sign and is ruled by Pluto and Mars.
Scorpios are the natural ruler of the 8th house. The Eighth House symbolizes issues of death and rebirth, sexuality, and transformation. As this house follows the house of relationship, it refers to the fruits of relationship, and these include the power to change based on new understanding made possible when one is no longer acting solely as an individual. Planets in this house are difficult to interpret, but may refer to how sexuality is manifested or to lessons you need to learn in order to grow and change.
The Solar Eclipse New Moon in Scorpio on Oct. 25 is triggering the Scorpio-Taurus eclipse axis, which is all about money, values, desires, what is important to you, desire for food, desire for sex, desire for sensuality.
Scorpio eclipse energy in particular involves spiritual energies, the unseen, invisible patterns, whereas Taurus eclipse energy is what we feel in a PHYSICAL sense, material energies.
This is looking like a really strong solar eclipse because it’s happening at 1 degree, the first degree, it’s initiating something new.
Not only are we initiating something new, whatever change is happening, the universal energies are doing everything in their power to ensure we know we are divinely guided and protected through these big shifts.
This is not just a New Moon or a Partial Solar Eclipse – it’s also a Cazimi Moon.
Cazimi means good luck and opportunity (AKA: Auspicious).
A Cazimi moon only happens during a new moon, and it’s when the sun and the moon are in conjunction with another planet, meaning the sun and moon are under the same degree, or within one or two degrees, of another planet. A cazimi moon is one of the highest forms of good luck and is most potent 30 minutes before and after the new moon.
Not every new moon is a cazimi, in fact, a cazimi moon is actually quite rare and powerful luck. This is why you’re invited to make a wish when there’s a cazimi moon, especially if you are looking for success in a particular area of your life.
One question to journal on: How can I balance the spiritual and material demands, wants and needs living in this world? Because even though we are souls, spirits inside of material bodies, and Our bodies are our temples, our body is also how we experience the sensations of the material world.
What do you need to keep to yourself? Scorpio likes a little bit of mystery because Scorpio energy is deeply emotional but it’s also about big changes, deep levels of transformation.
How will this Solar Eclipse in Scorpio Affect Me?
If you are a sun or rising Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius, especially if you have planets or angles around 1 to 4 degrees of fixed signs you are likely to feel the effects of this solar eclipse new moon in Scorpio the most.
Especially Taurus and Scorpio suns and risings.

Cazimi Ritual
Before you start a new moon ritual, one of the most powerful things you can do is declutter your space. Declutter your kitchen, your work space, your bedroom, your closet, and yes, your mind.
Get rid of old boxes, old things that are keeping you stuck in the past. Breathwork, meditation, going for a walk in nature, dancing to your favorite songs can help you clear your mind and heart.
For the ritual you’ll want to ensure all four elements Earth, Water, Wind, Fire, are represented:
- Use a candle for fire
- A feather or incense to represent air
- A crystal to represent the earth
- And water to represent water
You can also use herbs and spices to help you with a personal goal or healing.
For example, rosemary is great for clearing the head area of unwanted thoughts, it lifts the negative thinking in favor of positive thoughts and assists with concentration. Rose petals or rose oil is also great for connecting to your heart space, for loving energy, or connecting with your feminine energy. There’s tons of possibilities.
The cazimi new moon’s power is most potent 30 minutes before and after the new moon. This new moon is happening at 3:48 AM Pacific on Oct. 25, 2022, so 3:18 AM until about 4:18 PM on Oct. 25, 2022, will be that window of energetic opportunity for those of us in the Pacific Time Zone. You’ll have to adjust the exact time based on your time zone.
- Using a journal and pen, take time to reflect on what’s going on in your life that you enjoy, what do you want more of, what doyou want to change or improve, what does that look like, feel like, sound like. Which house does Scorpio rule for you, what kind of success or changes would you like to see unfold in that particular area of your life? Use three feeling words for example, loving, healing, productive. Or whatever speaks to you.
2. Once you have your three feeling words, light your candle. Holding your right hand over your heart, left hand on your womb space, feel the energy of your three feeling words wash over you. Feel loving light from the heavens from the sky, wash over you. There is so much abundance. You are enough. You are worthy.
3. Movement is important when it comes to manifesting and connecting with our inner divine. Dance is medicine. So much of our energy, of our shame, guilt, fear, it’s trapped in our body. It’s the root of disease when we are at a dis-ease. Put on music, at least 1-2 songs, I have some great spiritual playlists on Spotify if you’d like a recommendation. And dance. Think about your three feelings as you dance, what do they feel like as you embody them. Connect with your body. With your sexuality. With your heart.
- Once you finish dancing, come back to your altar and place your crystal, feather/incense, and water in a triangle with the candle in the middle.
5. Get out your journal or blank piece of paper – in the middle of the page write I am calling in. And around this text write down everything you are manifesting.

- I am manifesting
- My next chapter looks like
- I am creating
- My energy is sending out
Make sure to blow out the candle before you go to bed. But otherwise you can leave your altar as is for the next 4-5 days.
